By your great wisdom, by your trade you have multiplied your wealth, and your heart is lifted up because of your wealth.

Striking you have stricken Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Glory in it and stay in your house; and why should you stir yourself up to evil so that you may fall, you and Judah with you?

You have said, behold, I have stricken Edom, and your heart has lifted you up to boast; now, stay in your house; why should you stir yourself up to evil, that you should fall, you and Judah with you?

Behold, the man who did not set God as his strength; but he trusted in his many riches; he was strong in his destruction.

Trust not in oppression, and do not be vain in robbery; if riches increase to you, do not set your heart on them.

God has spoken once; twice I have heard this, that strength belongs to God;

One trusting in his riches, he shall fall; but like a green leaf the righteous ones shall flourish.

Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

lest I become satisfied and deceive, and say, Who is Jehovah? Or lest I become dispossessed and steal, and lay hold of the name of my God.

And by great waters, the seed of Sihor and the harvest of the Nile was her revenue; and she the mart of nations.

Who has counseled this against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are rulers, whose traders are the weighty of the earth?

Woe to the wise ones in their own eyes, and discerning in their own faces!

Why do you glory in your valleys, your flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? She trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come to me?

Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and her daughters. Also, she did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy ones.

Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. I have cast you to the ground. I will put you before kings, that they may see you.

Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, So says the Lord Jehovah, Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, in the heart of the seas; yet you are a man, and not God, though you give your heart as the heart of gods.

And having borne away the multitude, his heart will be lifted up. And he will cause myriads to fall, but he shall not be strong.

The king answered and said, Is this not great Babylon that I have built for the house of the kingdom, by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and honor the King of Heaven, for all His works are truth, and His ways are justice. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

According to their pasturage, so they were sated. They were sated, and their heart was lifted up, therefore they have forgotten Me.

And Tyre shall build a fortress for herself, and shall pile up silver like the dust, and gold like the mud of the streets.

be mindful of the same thing toward one another, not being mindful of high things, but be accommodating to the lowly. Do not become wise among yourselves;

and you not say in your heart, My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.

Charge the rich in the age now, not to be high-minded, nor to set hope on the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, the One offering to us richly all things for enjoyment;
