Cry out and howl, son of man. For it shall be on My people. It shall be on all the rulers of Israel; they are thrown to the sword with My people, so slap your thigh,
Howl, shepherds, and cry, and roll yourselves in ashes, O leaders of the flock! For the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are fulfilled, and you shall fall like a desirable vessel.
And they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and beam over the goodness of Jehovah, for grain, and for new wine, and for oil, and for the sons of the flock and the herd. And their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not add to languish any more.
For after I had turned away, I repented; and after I knew, I slapped on my thigh. I was ashamed; yea, I also was shamed, because I lifted up the reproach of my youth.
And you, son of man, prophesy and strike palm to palm. And let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the wounded. It is the sword of the wounded, the great one that surrounds them,
So says the Lord Jehovah: Strike with your hand, and stamp with your foot, and say, Alas, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! For they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the plague.
And it happened as they struck, and I remained, even I. And I fell on my face and I cried out and said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! Will You destroy all the remnant of Israel in Your pouring out of Your fury on Jerusalem?
Gird up and lament, priests. Howl, ministers of the altar. Come, pass the night in sackcloth, ministers of my God. For the food offering and the drink offering are held back from the house of your God.
On account of this I will wail and howl; I will go stripped and naked; I will make a wailing like the jackal, yea, mourn like the daughters of the ostrich.
