But he rebelled against him in sending his messengers to Egypt, to give horses and many people to him. Shall he prosper? Shall he who does these things escape? Or shall he break the covenant and be delivered?

For through the anger of Jehovah it happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until He had cast them out from His face, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

And also he rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God; and he stiffened his neck and hardened his heart from turning to Jehovah the God of Israel.

But You, O God, will bring them down to the pit of destruction; men of blood and deceit will not live out half their days; but I will trust in You.

By iniquity escape is for them. In anger cast down the peoples, O God.

A witness of falsehoods will not be free from guilt; yea, a breather of lies shall not slip away.

I say, Are only words of the lips counsel and might for war? Now, in whom have you trusted that you rebelled against me?

And Zedekiah, king of Judah, shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but giving shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will speak with him mouth to mouth, and will see his eyes with his eyes.

And you shall not escape out of his hand, but seizing shall be seized and delivered into his hand. And your eyes shall see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak, his mouth with your mouth; and you shall go to Babylon.

But if you will not go out to the rulers of the king of Babylon, even this city shall be given into the hands of the Chaldeans, and they will burn it with fire. And you shall not escape out of their hand.

And they shall bring out all your wives and your sons to the Chaldeans. And you shall not escape out of their hand, but shall be seized by the hand of the king of Babylon. And this city shall be burned with fire.

For it was because of the anger of Jehovah in Jerusalem and Judah that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon, until Jehovah had cast them out from His face.

And he has despised the oath by breaking the covenant. And, behold, he had given his hand, and he has done all these things, he shall not escape.

Also there was another great eagle with great wings and many feathers. And, behold, this vine bent its roots toward him, and sent out its branches to him, to water it, away from the beds of its planting.

Say, So says the Lord Jehovah: Shall it prosper? Shall he not pull up its roots and cut off its fruit and wither it? All the leaves of its sprouting shall wither, and not with great arm, and not by many people, raise it by its roots.

And you, O wounded, wicked prince of Israel, of whom has come his day in the time of iniquity of the end,

And you, son of man, prophesy and say, So says the Lord Jehovah concerning the sons of Ammon, and as to their reproach, even say, The sword, the sword is loosened. It is polished for slaughter to make an end, so that it may be like lightning.

And she lusted on their paramours of whom the flesh of asses resembles their flesh, and as the issue of horses was their issue.

And it shall not be any more as confidence for the house of Israel, recalling the iniquity of their turning after them. And they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah.

When they took hold of you by your palm, you crushed and tore off all their shoulder. And when they leaned on you, you shattered and made all their loins stand.

Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape the judgment of Hell?

Only, he shall not heap up horses to himself, nor cause the people to turn back to Egypt so as to heap up horses, since Jehovah has said to you, You shall not again turn back in this way any more.

how shall we escape while neglecting so great a salvation? Which having received a beginning to be spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by the ones having heard.

We shall do this to them, and shall keep them alive, and wrath shall not be on us because of the oath which we have sworn to them.
