And they buried the bones of Saul and of his son Jonathan in the land of Benjamin, in Zelah, in the grave of his father Kish, and did all that the king had commanded. And afterward God heard prayer for the land.
And David built an altar there to Jehovah, and offered burnt offering and peace offerings. And Jehovah was entreated for the land; and the plague was stayed from Israel.
Therefore, a statement of the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Alas! I will be eased of My adversaries, and avenge Myself of My enemies.
A third part of you shall die by the plague and shall be consumed by the famine in your midst. And a third part shall fall by the sword round about you. And a third part I will scatter into every wind, and I will draw out a sword after them.
And My anger shall be spent, and I will make My fury rest on them, and I will be eased. And they shall know that I, Jehovah, have spoken in My zeal, in My completing My fury among them.
