And my heart ruled within myself, and I contended with the nobles and the magistrates. And I said to them, You are each man lending at interest, from his brother. And I held a great assembly against them.
Their widows are more numerous about Me than the sand of the seas. I have brought for them one devastating at noonday against the mother of a young man; I caused anguish and terror to fall on her suddenly.
Therefore, give their sons to the famine, and make them run onto the hand of the sword. And let their wives be bereaved, and be widows, and let their men be the slain of death, their young men be those struck by the sword in battle.
Who can stand before His indignation? And who can rise against the heat of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken down because of Him.
Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down and shaken together, and running over, they will give into your bosom. For the same measure which you measure, it will be measured back to you.
To a stranger you may lend at interest, but you shall not lend at interest to your brother, so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all that you put your hand to, in the land where you go to possess it.
When you shall vow a vow to Jehovah your God, you shall not delay to perform it; for Jehovah your God will certainly require it of you, and it shall be sin to you.
