Exodus 18:1

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

And Jethro the priest of Midian, the father-in-law of Moses, heard all that which God had done for Moses and for His people Israel, that Jehovah had caused Israel to go out from Egypt.

To the chief musician. A Contemplation for the Sons of Korah. We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have recounted to us the work You worked in their days, in the days of old.

We will not hide them from their sons; to declare to the coming generation the praises of Jehovah; yea, His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

And the priest of Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew and filled the troughs to water their father’s flocks.

And they came to their father Reuel; and he said, Why have you hurried to come today?

And Moses consented to live with the man; and he gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses.

And Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock behind the wilderness and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

And Moses went and returned to his father-in-law Jethro, and said to him, Please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt, and see whether they are still alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

Therefore, say to the sons of Israel, I am Jehovah, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of Egypt, and will deliver you from their slavery. And I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

And it shall be a name of joy to Me, a praise and a glory to all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do for them. And they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the peace that I do for it.

So says Jehovah of Hosts: In those days ten men out of all languages of the nations shall take hold, and will seize the skirt of a man, a Jew, saying, Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.

And Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are pulling up stakes to go to the place of which Jehovah has said, I will give it to you. Go with us, and we will do good to you; for Jehovah has spoken good concerning Israel.

And arriving, and gathering the assembly, they reported as many things God did with them and that He opened a door of faith to the nations.

And all the multitude was silent and were hearing Barnabas and Paul recounting as many things as God did through them among the nations, even the miraculous signs and wonders.

For I will not dare to speak of anything which Christ did not work out through me for the obedience of the nations in word and work,

For we have heard how Jehovah dried up the water of the Sea of Reeds before you, as you were going out of Egypt; also that which you have done to two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan; to Sihon, and to Og, whom you devoted to destruction.

And they said to him, Your servants have come from a very distant land, because of the name of Jehovah your God, for we have heard of His fame, and all that He has done in Egypt.

And the sons of the Kenite, the fatherin- law of Moses, had gone up out of the city of palms with the sons of Judah to the wilderness of Judah, which is in the south of Arad. And they went and lived with the people.

And Heber the Kenite had broken away from the Kenites, he being of the sons of Hobab, the father-in-law of Moses. And he pitched his tent by the oak in Zaanaim, near Kedesh.
