Do not rejoice, O Philistia, all of you, for the rod of your striking is broken, because a viper comes forth from the root of a snake, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.
He stood and measured the earth; He looked and nations trembled; and the ancient mountains were shattered; the hills of old; the goings of antiquity bowed down to Him.
And they will say to the one living in this land, They have heard that You, Jehovah, are in the midst of this people, who is seen eye with eye. You are Jehovah, and Your cloud stands over them; in a pillar of cloud You go before them by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.
And he sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor, to Pethor which is beside the river of the land of the sons of his people, to call for him, saying, Behold! A people has come out of Egypt. Behold! it has covered the eye of the earth, and it is sitting next to me.
This day I will begin to put your dread and your fear on the face of the peoples under all the heavens, who will hear your fame, and will tremble and writhe because of you.
And we have heard, and our heart has melted, and there still does not rise spirit in any man, because of you. For Jehovah your God, He is God in the heavens above, and in the earth below.
And they answered Joshua and said, Because it was certainly told to your servants what Jehovah your God commanded His servant Moses, to give you all the land, and to destroy all the ones living in the land before you; and we were greatly afraid for ourselves, because of you. And we did this thing.
And they said to him, Your servants have come from a very distant land, because of the name of Jehovah your God, for we have heard of His fame, and all that He has done in Egypt.
And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God has come to the camp. And they said, Woe to us! For never has it been like this yesterday and the day before.
