Esther 9:19

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

On account of this the Jews of the villages who lived in the unwalled villages made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and a day of sending portions, a man to his neighbor.

And in every province and province, in every city and city, the place wherever the word of the king and his law touched, there was joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews, for the fear of the Jews fell on them.

And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters to all the Jews who were in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus, near and far,

as the days in which the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned to them from affliction to joy, and from mourning into a good day, to make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions a man to his neighbor and gifts to the poor.

and said to him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem will dwell like unwalled villages, for the multitude of men and livestock in her midst.

But give merciful gifts of the things which are within, and see all things are clean to you.

If there is a needy one among you, one of your brothers inside any of your gates in your land which Jehovah your God is giving to you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your needy brother.

And you shall rejoice before Jehovah your God, you and your son, and your daughter, and your male slave, and your slave-girl, and the Levite that is inside your gates, and the alien, and the fatherless, and the widow, all that are among you, in the place which Jehovah your God shall choose to cause His name to dwell there.

And you shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son, and your daughter, and your male slave, and your slave-girl, and the Levite, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, all that are inside your gates.

All these cities were fortified with high walls, gates and double-leaved doors, besides a great many of the unwalled towns.

And the ones living on the earth will rejoice over them, and will make merry. And they will send one another gifts, because these two prophets tormented the ones living on the earth.

Ask your young men, and they will declare to you. And may the young men find favor in your eyes, for we have come at a good day. Please give that which your hand finds to your servants, and to your son, to David.
