In those days I saw in Judah ones treading wine presses on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves and loading asses; and also wine, grapes, and figs, and all burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day. And I testified against them on the day they sold food.
and saying, Men, why do you do these things? We also are men of like feelings to you, preaching the gospel to you to turn you from these vain things to the living God, who “made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all the things in them,” Ex. 20:11
Because knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful. But they became vain in their reasonings, and their undiscerning heart was darkened.
And I say this, A covenant having been ratified before to Christ by God, the Law coming into being four hundred and thirty years after, does not annul the promise, so as to abolish it.
Let no one rule against you, willing in humility and worship of the angels, intruding into things which he has not seen, being puffed up by the mind of his flesh without cause,
not to go beyond and to take advantage of his brother in the matter, because the Lord is the avenger concerning all these, even as we told you before, and solemnly testified.
I solemnly testify before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect an- gels, that you should guard these things without pre-judgment, doing nothing by way of partiality.
For speaking great swollen-over words of vanity, by the lusts of the flesh, by unbridled lusts, they allure the ones indeed escaping, the ones walking in error,
