When the good thing increases, those who devour it increase; then what profit is it to its possessor, except to see it with his eyes?

And he did good to Abram because of her. And he had sheep, and oxen, and he- asses, and male slaves, and slave-girls, and she-asses, and camels.

And Abram was very heavy in riches, in livestock, in silver and in gold.

Will your eyes fly on it? And it is not! For making it makes wings for itself; it flies into the heavens like an eagle.

Rejoice, O young man, in your youth. And make your heart glad in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

And I became great and increased more than all who were before me in Jerusalem; also my wisdom stood with me.

The sleep of the laboring man is sweet, whether he eats little or much. But the sated lust of the rich will not allow him to sleep.

Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the soul. This is also vanity and striving after wind.

As a partridge broods and does not hatch, so is he who makes riches, and not with justice; it will leave him in the midst of his days, and at his end he will be a foolish one.

Behold, is it not for Jehovah of Hosts that the people labor only for fire, and nations grow weary for emptiness?

because everything in the world: the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
