So I returned and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun. And behold the tears of those who were oppressed, and there is not for them one who comforts! And at the hand of those oppressing them was power; but there was not one who comforts them.

I also could speak as you. If your soul were in the place of my soul, I could bind words against you and shake at you with my head.

From the host of oppressions, they cry out; they cry because of the arm of the multitude.

Turn back, please, let there be no wrong. Yea, turn back again, for my righteousness is in it.

The earth is given into the hand of the wicked one; He covers the faces of its judges. If it is not He, then who is it?

For the pain of afflicted ones, for the sighing of the needy ones, I will now rise up, says Jehovah; I will set in safety; he pants for it.

I look to the right hand and see, and no one recognizes me; every escape is hidden from me; no one inquires for my soul.

I cried to You, O Jehovah; I said, You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.

My tears have been my food by day and by night, while they say to me all the day, Where is your God?

I will say to God my Rock, Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go darkened when the enemy oppresses me?

Reproach has broken My heart, and I am sick; and I waited for one to show pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

They also gave Me gall in My food; and in My thirst they gave Me vinegar to drink.

You made them eat with the bread of tears; yea, You made them drink with tears a third time.

and he said, When you midwife the Hebrew women, and look on the birthstools, if it is a son, you will kill him; and if it is a daughter, it shall live.

And Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, Every son that is born, you shall cast him into the river. And you shall keep alive every daughter.

All the brothers of the one being poor hate him, and his friends also surely have been far from him; he pursues them with words, yet they are not.

A poor man that oppresses the weak one is like a sweeping rain that leaves no food.

When the righteous ones increase, the people rejoice; when a wicked one rules, the people groan.

And again I saw under the sun the place of judgment: wickedness is there; and the place of righteousness, wickedness is there.

If you see the oppression of the poor, or the removing of justice and righteousness in the province, do not be amazed at the purpose. For a high one over a high one is watching; and high ones are over them.

For oppression makes a wise man mad; and a bribe destroys the heart.

All this I have seen. I gave my heart to every work that is done under the sun. There is a time in which a man rules over a man for an evil reason to him.

For the vineyard of Jehovah of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the man of Judah is His delightful plant. And He waited for justice, but behold, bloodshed; for righteousness, but behold, a cry!

But I will put it into the hand of those oppressing you, who have said to your soul, Bow down that we may cross, and, Put your back to the ground, and be as the street to those who cross.

Their feet run to evil, and they hurry to pour out innocent blood. Thoughts of iniquity are their thoughts; wasting and ruin are in their ways.

And not shall they break for them in mourning, to comfort him for ones who died. And not shall they give them the cup of consolation to drink for one’s father or one’s mother.

On account of these I weep; my eye, my eye brings down water, because one comforting who could be bringing back my soul is far from me. My sons are desolated because the enemy prevails.

Zion spreads forth her hands; there is not one comforting to her; Jehovah has commanded concerning Jacob that his oppressive one should be round about him. Jerusalem has become as an impurity among them.

She bitterly weeps in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks. She has no one out of all the ones loving her. All her friends dealt deceitfully with her; they became enemies to her.

Her uncleanness is in her skirts. She did not remember her end and has gone down wonderfully. She had no comforter. O Jehovah, see my affliction, for the enemy has magnified himself.

For they do not know to do right, a statement of Jehovah, those storing up violence and destruction in their palaces.

Make it heard at the palaces in Ashdod, and at the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Gather yourselves on the mountains of Samaria and see many tumults in its midst, and oppressions in its midst.

And this is a second thing you do: covering the altar of Jehovah with tears, with weeping and groaning, yet not facing toward the food offering, and taking it with delight from your hand.

Then you shall again see the difference between the righteous one and the wicked one, between him who serves God and him who does not serve Him.

And I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against those divining, and against ones doing adultery, and against those swearing to a lie; and against those who extort from the hired laborer’s pay; and turning away the widow, and the fatherless, and the sojourner, and the one not fearing Me, says Jehovah of Hosts.

But all this is happening that the Scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled. Then all the disciples ran away, forsaking Him.

The fruit of your ground, and all your labor, shall be eaten up by a nation which you do not know. And you shall always be oppressed and crushed.

and you shall serve your enemies whom Jehovah shall send on you, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in lack of all things. And He shall put an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you.

Behold, the wages of the workmen having reaped your fields cry out, being kept back by you. And the cries of the ones having reaped have entered “into the ears of the Lord of Hosts.” Isa. 5:9

And the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, for he had nine hundred chariots of iron. And he oppressed the sons of Israel with force twenty years.
