For what is there for man in all his labor, and in striving of his heart, which he did as a laborer under the sun?

Being early to rise is in vain for you, being late to sit up to eat the bread of toils is vain; for so He gives His beloved sleep.

The soul who labors is a laborer for himself, for his mouth urges him on.

What is the profit to a man in all his labor which he labors under the sun?

Then I faced on all my works that my hands had done, and on the labor that I had labored to do. And, behold, all is vanity and striving after wind, and there is no profit under the sun.

What advantage is to him who works in that which he did as a laborer.

Better is a palm filled with rest, than two fists filled with labor and striving after wind.

There is one alone, and there is not a second; and there is not a son or a brother to him; and there is not an end to all his labor; even his eyes are not satisfied with riches; and he says, For whom do I labor, and my soul be without good? This is also vanity; yea, it is an evil task.

Also all his days he eats in darkness, and with much grief, and with his sickness and wrath.

Then I praised mirth, because nothing is good for man under the sun except to eat and to drink and to be glad. For that shall join with him in his labor for the days of his life which God gives him under the sun.

For what will a man be benefited if he should gain the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give as an exchange for his soul?

Give us today our daily bread,

Because of this, I say to you, Do not be anxious for your soul, what you eat and what you drink, nor for your body, what you put on. Is not the soul more than the food and the body than the clothing?

Therefore do not be anxious into the morrow. For the morrow will be anxious of itself. Sufficient to each day is its own badness.

And He said to His disciples, Because of this I say to you, Do not be anxious as to your life, what you should eat; nor as to the body, what you should put on.

And you, do not seek what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, and stop being in anxiety.

See that you also may submit to such ones, and to everyone working and laboring with us.

Be anxious about nothing, but in everything by prayer and by petition with thanksgivings, let your requests be made known to God;

But having food and coverings, we will be satisfied with these.

“casting all your anxiety onto Him,” because it matters to Him concerning you. LXX-Psa. 54:23; MT-Psa. 55:22
