And Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not done. And he saddled the ass and rose up and went to his house, to his city. And he gave command to his household, then hanged himself, and died. And he was buried in the grave of his father.

He who digs a pit shall fall into it, and he who rolls a stone, it shall turn back on him.

He who pulls out stones may be hurt with them; he who splits trees may be endangered by them.

As when a man fled before a lion, and the bear met him. Or he goes into the house and leans his hand against the wall, and a snake bites him.

And if they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out from there. And if they hide from My eyes in the bottom of the sea, from there I will command the serpent, and he will bite them.

And he went into his father’s house at Ophrah, and killed his brothers, the sons of Jerubbaal, seventy men on one stone. But Jotham, the youngest son of Jerubbaal, was left; for he had hidden.
