There is no memory of former things; yea, also of things which will be afterward; and not shall there be a memorial with those following.

The desolations of the enemy are ended forever; and You have uprooted the cities; their memory has perished with them.

Is there a thing of which one might say, See this, it is new? It has already been for the ages which were before us.

For there is not a memory of the wise ones more than with the fool forever, in that already the days to come will be forgotten. And how do the wise ones die above the fool?

And this I saw, the wicked ones buried; and they came and went from the holy place, and were forgotten in the city, these things that they had done. This is also vanity.

For the living know that they shall die; but the ones having died do not know anything, and not to them is any more a reward, for their memory is forgotten.

Behold, the former things have come to pass, and I reveal new things before they spring forth, I cause you to hear.
