but Jehovah who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a stretched out arm, you shall fear Him, and you shall bow yourselves to Him, and you shall sacrifice to Him;
And it shall be when your son asks you in the future, saying, What is this? You shall say to him, Jehovah brought us out from Egypt by the might of His hand, from the house of slaves.
And Moses said to the people, Remember this day in which you went out from Egypt, from the house of slaves. For by the might of His hand Jehovah brought you out from here. And no leaven shall be eaten.
Therefore, say to the sons of Israel, I am Jehovah, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of Egypt, and will deliver you from their slavery. And I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and you did not remember the Rock of your strength, on account of this you shall plant plants of pleasantness, and shall sow it a foreign shoot.
And you forget your Maker, Jehovah, who has stretched out the heavens and founded the earth. And you dread continually, every day, from the fury of the oppressor, since he was ready to destroy. And where is the fury of the one oppressing?
So says Jehovah, the God of Israel: I cut a covenant with your fathers in the day I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, saying,
And I will call to account on her the days of the Baals in which she burned incense to them. Yea, she put on herself her nose rings, and her jewels, and she has gone after those loving her and forgotten Me, says Jehovah.
And it shall be to you for a fringe, that you may look on it and remember all the commandments of Jehovah, and do them; and that you do not go about after your own heart and your own eyes after which you fornicate;
Be on guard for yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of Jehovah your God, which He has cut with you, and make to yourselves a carved image, the form of anything concerning which Jehovah your God has commanded you.
Only, be on guard for yourself and guard your soul very much, that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen; and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And you shall make them known to your sons, and to your sons’ sons.
Watch that there will not be one abducting you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.
And they forsook Jehovah, the God of their fathers, who brought them out from the land of Egypt. And they went after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed themselves to them, and angered Jehovah.
