Deuteronomy 4:9

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

Only, be on guard for yourself and guard your soul very much, that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen; and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And you shall make them known to your sons, and to your sons’ sons.

For I have known him, so that whatever he may command his sons and his house after him, even they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice; to the intent that Jehovah may bring on Abraham that which He has spoken of him.

I have hidden Your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

And even when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not leave me until I make known Your arm to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.

and so that you may recount in the ears of your son and the son of your son what I exerted Myself to do against Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them, and you may know that I am Jehovah.

And be watchful in all that I have said to you. And you shall not mention another god by name; it shall not be heard from your mouth.

My son, hear your father’s instruction, and do not forsake the law of your mother;

My son, give Me your heart, and let your eyes watch My ways.

My son, do not let them depart from your eyes; keep sound wisdom and judgment,

My son, keep my words and treasure up My commands within you.

The living, the living is the one thanking You; as I do today. The father makes known Your truth to his sons.

You see many things, but do not observe; your ears are open, but do not hear.

So says Jehovah, Take heed for the sake of your lives, and do not lift up a burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem.

Then observe how you hear; for whoever has, it will be given to him; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.

And fathers, do not provoke to anger your children, but nurture them in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.

And you shall teach them to your sons by speaking of them as you sit in your house, and as you walk in the way, and as you lie down, and as you rise up.

These are the statutes and the judgments which you shall take heed to do in the land which Jehovah the God of your fathers has given to you, to possess it, all the days that you live on the earth:

You shall not eat leaven with it. You shall eat unleavened bread with it seven days, even the bread of affliction. For you came out of the land of Egypt in haste, so that you may remember the day that you came out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.

And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear Jehovah your God, to keep all the words of this Law and these statutes, to do them;

The secret things belong to Jehovah our God; and the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may do all the words of this Law.

Now, then, write this song for you, and teach it to the sons of Israel. Put it in their mouths, so that this song shall be for a witness for Me against the sons of Israel.

and said to them, Set your heart on all the words which I have testified against you today, that you command your sons to take heed to do all the words of this Law.

Remember the day that you stood before Jehovah your God in Horeb, when Jehovah said to me, Gather the people to Me, and I will make them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days that they live on the land; and that they may teach their sons.

And you shall be on guard very much for your souls, for you did not see any form in the day Jehovah spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire,

Be on guard for yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of Jehovah your God, which He has cut with you, and make to yourselves a carved image, the form of anything concerning which Jehovah your God has commanded you.

and you shall be on guard that you not forget Jehovah who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slaves.

that you might fear Jehovah your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you; you, and your son, and your son’s son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.

When your son asks you hereafter, saying, What are the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments which Jehovah your God has commanded you?

And you shall teach them to your sons, and shall speak of them as you sit in your house, and as you walk in the way, and as you are lying down, and as you are rising up.

Take heed to yourself, lest you forget Jehovah your God so as not to keep His commandments, and His judgments, and His statutes, which I am commanding you today;

and it rises up into your heart, and you forget Jehovah your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slaves;

Because of this it is needful for us more abundantly to take heed to the things having been heard that we should not slip away at any time.

how shall we escape while neglecting so great a salvation? Which having received a beginning to be spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by the ones having heard.

You see that faith worked with his works; and out of the works the faith was made complete.

Whoever rebels against your mouth, and will not listen to your commands in all that you say to him, he shall die. Only, be strong and brave.

And you shall be very watchful for yourselves to love Jehovah your God.

And he spoke to the sons of Israel, saying, When your sons ask their fathers hereafter, saying, What do these stones mean?

Therefore, remember how you received and heard, and keep, and repent. If, therefore, you do not watch, I will come upon you like a thief and you will not know what hour I come upon you, not at all.

And the sons of Israel did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and forgot Jehovah their God, and served the Baals and the Asherahs.

And the sons of Israel did not remember Jehovah their God who had delivered them out of the hand of all their enemies round about;
