They made Me jealous with a no-god; they made Me angry by their vanities; and I shall make them jealous by a no-people; by a foolish nation I shall make them angry.

And he made his son to pass through the fire, used magic, and used divination, and dealt with mediums and spiritknowers. He increased to work the evil in the eyes of Jehovah, to provoke Him to anger.

because they have forsaken Me and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands; and My wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.

I have hated those keeping worthless idols; but I trust in Jehovah.

For they enraged Him with their high places; and they provoked Him to jealousy with their molten images.

a people who continually provoke Me to My face; who sacrifice in gardens, and burn incense on the bricks;

But they are at once being foolish and being stupid; their tree is an instruction of vanities.

Among the vanities of the nations are there any who make rain fall? Or can the heavens give showers? Is it not You, O Jehovah our God? Therefore we will wait for You; for You do all these.

But My people have forgotten Me. They have burned incense to vain idols; and they have caused them to stumble in their ways, from the old paths, to walk in paths of a way not raised up;

Has a nation changed its gods, and they were not gods? But My people have changed their Glory without it being profitable.

Why should I pardon you for this? Your sons have forsaken Me and have sworn by No-gods. And I adjured them, and they committed adultery and gathered themselves by troops.at a house of one doing adultery.

The sons gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me.

Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a distant land! Is not Jehovah in Zion? Or is not her king in her? Why have they provoked Me with their graven images, with foreign vanities?

And He put forth the form of a hand and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heavens and brought me to Jerusalem, in the visions of God, to the opening of the inner gate facing north, where there was a seat of the image of jealousy, which causes jealousy.

Yet the number of the sons of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which is not measured nor numbered. And it shall be, in the place where it is said to them, You are Not My People, it shall be said to them, Sons of the Living God.

Those who pay heed to vanities of idolatry forsake their mercy;

And in my beginning to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, as also on us in the beginning.

and saying, Men, why do you do these things? We also are men of like feelings to you, preaching the gospel to you to turn you from these vain things to the living God, who “made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all the things in them,” Ex. 20:11

But I say, Did not Israel know? First, Moses says, “I will provoke you to jealousy by a non-nation, by an undiscerning nation I will anger you.” Deut. 32:21

As also He says in Hosea, I will call the ones Not My People, My People! And the ones Not Being Loved, Being Loved! Hosea 2:23

Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

With strange gods they moved Him to jealousy; and with disgusting things they provoked Him to anger.

They sacrificed to demons who were not God, to gods whom they did not know, new ones who came lately. Your fathers had not dreaded them.

And do not turn aside to go after vanities which do not profit and do not deliver, for they are vanities.
