And we cried to Jehovah, the God of our fathers, and Jehovah heard our voice, and saw our affliction, and our labor, and our oppression.

And God heard the voice of the young boy. And the angel of God called to Hagar out of the heavens. And He said to her, What ails you, Hagar? Do not fear, for God has heard the voice of the boy, there where he is.

And Leah conceived and bore a son. And she called his name Reuben; for she said, Surely Jehovah has looked on my affliction, for now my husband will love me.

It may be Jehovah will look on my affliction, and Jehovah will return good to me for his cursing this day.

Turn to me and favor me, as is the manner to those who love Your name.

and have not shut me up into the hand of an enemy; You have set my feet in a broad place.

And call on Me in the day of distress, and I will save you; and you shall glorify Me.

And it happened during these many days that the king of Egypt died, and the sons of Israel groaned from the slavery. And they cried, and their cry went up to God from the slavery.

And God saw the sons of Israel, and God knew them.

And now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me, and I also have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.

And the people believed. And they heard that Jehovah had visited the sons of Israel, and that He had seen their affliction. And they bowed and worshiped.

And I also have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians are enslaving. And I have remembered My covenant.

So says Jehovah his Maker, Jehovah, who formed it in order to establish it; Jehovah is His name:

At this time tomorrow I will send to you a man out of the land of Benjamin. And you shall anoint him for the leader over My people Israel. And he shall save My people out of the hand of the Philistines; for I have seen My people, for their cry has come to Me.
