Daniel 9:16

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

O Lord, I pray, according to all Your righteousness, let Your anger and Your fury be turned back from Your city Jerusalem, Your mountain of holiness. For because of our sins and of the iniquity of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach to all those around us.

with which Your enemies have reproached, O Jehovah; with which they have cursed the footsteps of Your Anointed.

you shall not bow to them, and you shall not serve them; for I am Jehovah your God, a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those that hate Me;

On account of this the anger of Jehovah is kindled on His people, and He has stretched out His hand against them, and has struck them; and the mountains quaked, and their corpses were as offal in the midst of the streets. In all this His anger does not turn back, but His hand is stretched out still.

I will even make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth for evil, for a reproach, and a proverb, a gibe, and a curse, there in all places where I will drive them.

And I will pursue them with the sword, with the famine, and with the plague. And I will give them to be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and a waste, and a hissing, and a reproach among all the nations, there where I have banished them.

For this city has been to Me a cause of My anger and My wrath from the day that they built it even to this day, that I should remove it from My face;

because of all the evil of the sons of Israel and of the sons of Judah which they have done to provoke Me to anger, they, their kings, their rulers, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and those living in Jerusalem.

By your blood which you have poured out, you are guilty; and by your idols which you have made, you are defiled. And your days are brought near, and you have come to your years. Therefore, I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the lands.

And I will give you to be a waste and a reproach among the nations that are round about you, in the eyes of all who pass by.

And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas, in the glorious holy mountain. Yet he shall go to his end, and there is not a helper for him.

And while I was speaking and praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and making my cry fall before Jehovah my God for the holy mountain of my God,

And you shall know that I am Jehovah your God dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain. And Jerusalem shall be holiness, and aliens shall no more pass through her.

So says Jehovah: I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And Jerusalem shall be called a City of Truth, and the mountain of Jehovah of Hosts, the Holy Mountain.

since it is a just thing with God to repay affliction to the ones afflicting you,

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Jehovah brings out, and He gives wealth; He brings low; yea, He lifts up.
