Come, and let me take wine, and let us gulp down fermented liquor; and tomorrow shall be as this day, great, exceedingly abundant.

Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his lees and has not been emptied from vessel to vessel. He has not gone into exile. On account of this his taste remains in him, and his scent is not changed.

Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. I have cast you to the ground. I will put you before kings, that they may see you.

Speak and say, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, great monster who lies in the midst of his rivers, who has said, My river is mine, and I have made it.

And the thing that the king asks is rare. And there is no other who may reveal it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was stunned for one moment, and his thoughts troubled him. The king answered and said, O Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its meaning trouble you. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream is to those who hate you, and its meaning is to your enemies.

Then all the king’s wise men came in. But they could not read the writing or make the meaning known to the king.

And it shall be in that time, I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and call to account the men being settled on their lees; who say in their heart, Jehovah will not do good, and not will He do evil.
