Then Daniel answered with counsel and insight to Arioch the king’s chief of the executioners, who had gone out to kill the wise men of Babylon.

And the Midianites sold him into Egypt, to Potiphar, a eunuch of Pharaoh, the chief of the executioners.

And the rest of the people who remained in the city, and those who fell away, who fell to him, even the rest of the people who remained, Nebuzaradan, the chief of the executioners, exiled to Babylon.

And in the fifth month, in the tenth of the month, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, Nebuzaradan, the chief of the executioners, who stood before the king of Babylon, came into Jerusalem.

And all the army of the Chaldeans who were with the chief of the executioners broke down all the walls of Jerusalem roundabout.

He answered and said to Arioch, the king’s ruling officer, Why is the decree so hasty from before the king? And Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

All on account of this Daniel went in to Arioch, whom the king had chosen to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He went and said this to him, Do not destroy the wise men of Babylon. Bring me in before the king, and I will interpret the meaning to the king.
