Amos 8:10

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

And I will turn your feasts to mourning, and all your songs into a dirge. And I will bring up sackcloth on all loins, and baldness on every head. And I will make it like the mourning for an only son; and the end of it shall be like a day of bitterness.

O daughter of My people, put on sackcloth and roll in ashes. Make mourning for yourself, as for an only son, most bitter mourning; for the one devastating shall suddenly come on us.

And I will pour out on the house of David, and on those living in Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of prayers. And they shall look on Me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they shall be bitter over Him, like the bitterness over the first-born.

They shall also gird on sackcloth, and trembling shall cover them. And shame shall be on all faces, and baldness on all heads.

For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped. On all the hands shall be cuttings, and sackcloth on the loins.

It shall happen at the filling of his belly, He shall cast on him the fury of His wrath, and He shall rain on him while he is eating.

I will also cause all her joy to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.

For as long as thorns are woven together, and as their drunkards are drunken, they shall be devoured like fully dried straw.

And they will howl the songs of the temple in that day, a statement of the Lord Jehovah. The corpses shall be many; in every place one shall throw them out, saying, Hush!

Take away from Me the noise of your songs; and I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments.

Let darkness and the shadow of death seize upon it. Let a cloud dwell on it; let darkness of day terrify it! Let it not be joined to the days of the year. Let it not come into the number of the months.

And you shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son, and your daughter, and your male slave, and your slave-girl, and the Levite, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, all that are inside your gates.

And she went and sat down opposite him, about a bow shot away. For she said, Let me not see the death of the boy. And she sat opposite and raised her voice and wept.

And when a man’s head grows bald, he is bald, he is clean.

And it shall be, instead of a smell of perfume, there shall be an odor of decay. And instead of a girdle, a rope; and instead of curled work, baldness; and instead of a girding of a rich robe, sackcloth; instead of beauty, a burning

Your own evil shall instruct you, and your apostasies shall reprove you. Therefore know and see that your forsaking Jehovah your God is evil and bitter; and My fear is not in you, a statement of the Lord Jehovah of Hosts.

The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance has turned to mourning.

And you, son of man, so says the Lord Jehovah to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come on the four corners of the land.

Wail like a virgin girded with sackcloth over the husband of her youth.

I hate, I reject your feast days; and I will not delight in your solemn assemblies.

And my lyre has turned to mourning, and My flute vibrates to the sound of weeping.

And I will call to account on her the days of the Baals in which she burned incense to them. Yea, she put on herself her nose rings, and her jewels, and she has gone after those loving her and forgotten Me, says Jehovah.
