And it happened as they struck, and I remained, even I. And I fell on my face and I cried out and said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! Will You destroy all the remnant of Israel in Your pouring out of Your fury on Jerusalem?

O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, attend to us and work! Do not delay, for Your own sake, O my God, for Your name is called on Your city and on Your people.

Let the priests, ministers of Jehovah, weep between the porch and the altar; and let them say, Have pity on Your people, O Jehovah, and do not give Your inheritance to shame, for a proverb among those of the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?

I have struck you with scorching and mildew. The multitude of your gardens and your vineyards, and your figs, and your olives are devoured by the creeping locust; yet you have not returned to Me, a statement of Jehovah.

And I said, Lord Jehovah, I pray, stop. How can Jacob rise up? For he is small.

For who has despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice and shall see the plummet stone in the hand of Zerubbabel. These seven are the eyes of Jehovah; they run to and fro through all the earth.

And it was said to them that they should not harm the grass of the earth, nor every green thing, nor every tree, if not only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
