But do not seek Beth-el, and do not enter Gilgal, and do not cross over to Beersheba; for going Gilgal shall go into exile, and Beth-el shall be for nothing.

On account of this that place is called The Well of Sheba (Beer-sheba), because the two of them swore there.

And he planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba, and there he called on the name of Jehovah the everlasting God.

And he went from there to Beer-sheba.

And he called it Shebah; so the name of the city is The Well of Sheba (Beersheba) until this day.

And the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Behold your gods, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt!

And he set the one in Beth-el, and the other he put in Dan.

And he brought in all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places there where the priests burned incense, from Geba to Beer-sheba, and broke down the high places of the gates that were at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the ruler of the city, which were on a man’s left at the gate of the city.

Those who hate you shall be clothed with shame; and the tent of the wicked one shall not be.

Jehovah voids the counsel of the nations, He frustrates the thoughts of the peoples.

For the terrifying one ceases; and the one scorning is ended; and all that watch for iniquity are cut off;

Counsel a plan, and it is broken; speak a word, and it shall not rise; for God is with us.

And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of their confidence in Bethel.

And the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed. The thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars. And they shall say to the mountains, Cover us! and to the hills, Fall on us!

Is Gilead evil? Surely they have been vanity. They sacrificed bulls in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the field.

Israel, though you fornicate, do not let Judah become guilty. And do not come to Gilgal, and not go up to Beth-aven, and not swear, As Jehovah lives.

All their evil is in Gilgal, for there I hated them. I will drive them out of My house for the evil of their doings, I will not add to love them; all their rulers are revolters.

I will also break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the one living from the Valley of Aven, and him who holds the scepter from Beth-eden. And the people of Syria shall go captive to Kir, says Jehovah.

For in the day I call to account the transgressions of Israel on him, I will also call to account on the altars of Bethel. And the horns of the altar will be cut off and will fall to the ground.

Enter Beth-el and transgress; multiply transgressing at Gilgal. And bring your sacrifices for the morning, your tithes for three days;

And Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent to Jeroboam, the king of Israel, saying, Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to endure all his words.

But do not add to prophesy at Bethel any more, for it is the king’s holy place, and it is the royal house.

So thus says Jehovah, Your wife shall be a prostitute in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by a line. And you shall die in a defiled land. And going Israel shall go into exile from his land.

And the high places of Isaac shall be desolated, and the holy places of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

Those swearing by the guilt of Samaria, and say, As your God lives, O Dan! And, As the way of Beer-sheba lives! Even they shall fall, and not rise up again.

And God chose the low-born ones of the world, and the things beng despised, and the things not being, so that He might nullify the things being,

But we speak wisdom among the perfect, but not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, the ones being caused to cease.

You shall father sons and daughters, and they shall not be with you; for they shall go into captivity.

And Jehovah said to Joshua, Today I have rolled the reproach of Egypt off of you. And he called the name of that place Gilgal to this day.

For in one hour such great wealth was desolated. And every helmsman and all on the ships, and sailors, and as many as work the sea, stood from afar,

And Samuel said to the people, Come, and let us go to Gilgal and renew the kingdom there.

And he went from year to year even in a circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all these places.

And the name of his first-born was Joel, and the name of his second, Abiah, judges in Beer-sheba.
