Amos 4:10

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

I have sent a plague among you in the way of Egypt; I have killed your young men with the sword and your horses with captivity. And I have made the stench of your camps to come up even into your nostrils; yet you have not returned to Me, a statement of Jehovah.

In those days Jehovah began to cut off in Israel, and Hazael struck them in all the border of Israel;

And the anger of Jehovah burned against Israel, and He gave them into the hand of Hazael the king of Syria, and into the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael, all the days.

For he did not leave to Jehoahaz any of the people except fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like dust by threshing.

And Hazael said, Why is my lord weeping? And he said, Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel. You will send their fortified places into fire and you will slay their young men with the sword. And you will dash their sucklings to pieces; and you will rip up their pregnant women.

And Jehovah made strong the heart of Pharaoh, and he was not willing to send them away.

And Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and said to him, So says Jehovah the God of the Hebrews, Until when will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Send away My people so that they may serve Me.

And I will make Pharaoh’s heart strong, and he will pursue you. And I will be honored through Pharaoh, and through all his armies. And the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah. And they did so.

And He said, If listening you listen to the voice of Jehovah your God, and do what is right in His eyes, and you give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will not put on you all the diseases which I have put on Egypt; for I am Jehovah your Healer.

And the diviners said to Pharaoh, It is the finger of God. And Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as Jehovah had said.

And Jehovah hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not listen to them, as Jehovah had said to Moses.

You still are exalting yourself against My people, so as not to send them away.

And their slain shall be thrown out; and the stench from their carcasses shall go up; and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.

Behold, all of you who kindle fire, who are surrounded by sparks; walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks you are burning. This shall be to you from My hand; you shall lie down in pain.

Syrians in front, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with all the mouth. In all this His anger does not turn back, but His hand is still stretched out.

For the people do not turn back to Him who strikes them, and they do not seek Jehovah of Hosts.

On account of this the Lord shall not rejoice over their young men, and not have pity on their orphans and widows; for everyone is godless and an evildoer; and every mouth speaks foolishness. In all this His anger does not turn back, but His hand is still stretched out.

So Jehovah of Hosts says this: Behold, I will call them to account. The young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine.

And I will appoint over them four kinds, says Jehovah: the sword to kill, and the dogs to drag off, and the birds of the heaven and the beast of the earth to devour and destroy.

They shall die of deaths of diseases; they shall not be mourned and not shall they be buried; they shall be as dung on the face of the earth. And they will end by the sword and by famine, and their bodies shall be food for the birds of the heavens, and for the beasts of the earth.

Therefore, give their sons to the famine, and make them run onto the hand of the sword. And let their wives be bereaved, and be widows, and let their men be the slain of death, their young men be those struck by the sword in battle.

Moab is devastated, and her cities have gone up; and the choice of his young men have gone down to the slaughter, a statement of the King whose name is Jehovah of Hosts.

So her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be silenced in that day, says Jehovah of Hosts.

O Jehovah, Your eyes, are they not for faithfulness? You struck them, but they felt no pain. You consumed them, yet they refused to take correction. They made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to turn back.

And I am full of the fury of Jehovah; I am weary with holding in. Pour it out on the child in the street and on the circle of the young men together. For even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the elder with fullness of days.

So speak, a statement of Jehovah, Even the bodies of men shall fall as dung on the open field, and as the swath after the reaper, and no one shall gather them.

He shall not turn back to the land of Egypt, but he of Assyria shall be his king, because they refused to turn back.

But I will remove the northern army far from you, and I will drive him into a land of dryness and desolation with his face toward the eastern sea, and his rear toward the western sea. And his stench shall come up, and his ill odor shall come up, because he was doing great things.

I will also do this to you, and I shall appoint terror over you, the wasting, and the burning fever, destroying the eyes, and consuming the soul; and you shall sow your seed in vain, and your enemies will eat it.

and I will bring a sword on you, executing the vengeance of the covenant, and you shall be gathered to your cities, and I shall send pestilence into your midst; and you shall be given into the hand of an enemy.

And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and lack of bread in all your places; and you have not returned to Me, a statement of Jehovah.

And they will howl the songs of the temple in that day, a statement of the Lord Jehovah. The corpses shall be many; in every place one shall throw them out, saying, Hush!

I struck you with blight, and with mildew, and with hail, in all the work of your hands; and you did not turn to Me, a statement of Jehovah.

Jehovah shall make the plague cling to you until He has consumed you from off the land where you are going, to possess it.

Jehovah shall strike you with lung disease and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting and mildew. And they shall pursue you until you perish.

He shall also bring on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid; and they shall cling to you.

And Jehovah shall turn aside every sickness from you; and He will not put on you any of the evil diseases of Egypt which you have known, but He will put them on all who hate you.
