For before these days Theudas rose up, claiming himself to be somebody, to whom was joined a number of men, about f our hundred, who were killed, and all, as many as were persuaded by him, were dispersed and came to nothing.

For false christs and false prophets will rise up. And they will give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

Then if they say to you, Behold, he is in the deserted place; do not go out. Behold, he is in the private rooms, not do believe.

For many will come in My name, saying, I am the Christ. And they will cause many to be led astray.

Then are you not the Egyptian, the one before these days caused a riot, and led four thousand men of the assassins out into the desert?

And he said to them, Men, Israelites, take heed to yourselves what you intend to do on these men.

But a certain man, Simon by name, had long been doing magic in the city and amazing the nation of Samaria, claiming himself to be someone great;

But from the ones thought to be something (of what kind they were then does not matter to me; God does not accept the face of man), for the ones thought to be pillars conferred nothing to me;

For if anyone thinks to be something, he deceives himself, being nothing.

For speaking great swollen-over words of vanity, by the lusts of the flesh, by unbridled lusts, they allure the ones indeed escaping, the ones walking in error,

And many will follow their destructive ways, through whom the way of truth will be evil spoken of.

These are murmurers, complainers, walking according to their lusts, and their mouth speaks over swollen words, admiring faces for the sake of gain.

And he carried me away into a deserted place, by the Spirit. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, filled with names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

And on her forehead was a name was written: Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth.
