And neither sun nor stars having appeared over many days, and no small tempest pressing hard, finally all hope for us to be saved was taken away.

that at that time you were without Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers of the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, about the ones having fallen asleep, that you not grieve, as the rest also, the ones not having hope.
