Acts 23:9

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

And there was a great cry. And the scribes of the part of the Pharisees rising up, they were contending, saying, We find nothing bad in this man. And, If a spirit spoke to him, or an angel, let us not fight against God.

When a man’s ways please Jehovah, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

And the rulers, and all the people, said to the priests and to the prophets, There is not a sentence of death for this man, for he has spoken to us in the name of Jehovah our God.

And the scribes and Pharisees seeing Him eating with tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, Why is it that He eats and drinks with the tax collectors and sinners?

And a third time he said to them, For what evil thing did this man do? I found nothing as cause of death in Him; therefore scourging Him, I will release Him.

And Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, I find no cause of death in this Man.

And the scribes and the Pharisees murmured at His disciples, saying, Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?

Therefore the crowd, the one standing and hearing, said thunder to have occurred. Others said, An angel has spoken to Him.

Then if God gave the same gift to them as also to us, believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, and I, who was I to be able to hinder God?

And it happened to me, going and drawing near to Damascus: suddenly, about midday, a considerable light out of the heaven shone around me.

And I fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to me, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?

I found him to be accused concerning questions of their law, and having no accusation worthy of death or of bonds.

For the Sadducees indeed say there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit. But Pharisees confess both the things.

But I having understood nothing he had done worthy of death, also this one himself having appealed to Augustus, I decided to send him;

And having withdrawn, they spoke to one another saying, This man does nothing worthy of death or of bonds.

For this night an angel of God stood by me, whose I am, and whom I serve,

But if it is from God, you will not be able to destroy it, lest even you will be found fighting against God.

And falling on the earth he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul! Why are you persecuting Me?

Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

And he said to them, Jehovah is witness against you, and His anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything in my hand. And they said, He is witness.

And he said to David, You are a righteous one more than I. For you have rewarded me as with a good one, and I have rewarded you as with an evil one.
