But becoming jealous, and taking some wicked men of the market loafers, and gathering a crowd, the disobeying Jews set the city into an uproar. And coming on the house of Jason, they sought to bring them on to the assembled people.

And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, welcoming the Word in much affliction with joy of the Holy Spirit.

Or do you think that vainly the Scripture says, The spirit which has dwelt in us yearns to envy?

And they gave to him seventy silverlings out of the house of Baal-berith. And Abimelech hired worthless and reckless men with them; and they went after him.
