For having served his own generation by the purpose of God, David truly fell asleep and was added to his fathers and saw corruption. 1 Kings. 2:10

By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until your return to the ground. For you have been taken out of it; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

When your days are fulfilled, and you lie with your fathers, even I shall raise up your seed after you, who shall come out from your loins, and I shall establish his kingdom.

And David lay with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.

And Rehoboam lay with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David. And his son Abijah reigned in his place.

And Jehoshaphat lay with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his son Jehoram reigned in his place.

And Uzziah lay with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burying place that was to the kings ; for they said, He is a leper. And his son Jotham reigned in his place.

And Solomon lay with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of his father David. And his son Rehoboam reigned in his place.

I have called to corruption, You are my father; to the worm, My mother and my sister.

they lie down together on the dust, and the worm covers over them.

Like sheep, they are appointed to Sheol. Death shall reign for them. And upright ones shall rule over them in the morning; and their form is for wearing out; Sheol is home for him.

Men, brothers, it is permitted to say to you with boldness concerning the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us until this day.

For I did not draw back from declaring to you all the counsel of God.

And placing the knees, he cried out with a loud voice, Lord, do not make this sin stand against them. And having said this, he fell asleep.

And Saul was consenting to the killing of him. And in that day a great persecution took place on the assembly, the one in Jerusalem; and all were scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

And then the ones that fell asleep in Christ perished.

Then He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, of whom the most remain until now, but some also fell asleep.

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, about the ones having fallen asleep, that you not grieve, as the rest also, the ones not having hope.
