the one opposing and exalting himself over every thing being called God, or object of worship, so as for him “to sit in the temple of God” as God, setting forth himself, that he is God. Dan. 11:36; Eze. 28:2

And Egypt is a man, and not God. And their horses are flesh, and not spirit. And Jehovah stretches out His hand, and both he who helps shall stumble, and he who is helped shall fall; and together they all shall be finished.

Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, So says the Lord Jehovah, Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, in the heart of the seas; yet you are a man, and not God, though you give your heart as the heart of gods.

So the Lord Jehovah says this: Because you have given your heart as the heart of gods,

Saying, do you say, I am of the gods before him who kills you? But you are a man, and not God, in the hands of him piercing you.

And the king shall do according to his will. And he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god; he shall even speak marvelous things against the God of gods and shall prosper until the fury is finished. For that which is decreed shall be done.

And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas, in the glorious holy mountain. Yet he shall go to his end, and there is not a helper for him.

And he shall speak words against the Most High, and he shall wear out the holy ones of the Most High. And he intends to change times and law. And they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and one half time.

I was considering the horns. And behold! Another little horn came up among them, and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. And behold! In this horn were eyes like the eyes of the man, and a mouth speaking great things.

for passing through and looking up at the objects of your worship, I also found an altar on which had been written, TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, not knowing Him whom you worship, I proclaim this One to you.

For even if some are called gods, either in the heavens or on the earth; (just as there are many gods, and many lords);
