And David said to him, Do not be afraid, for doing I will do with you kindness because of your father Jonathan. And I will give back to you all the land of your father Saul. And you shall eat bread at my table continually.

And the men were afraid because they were brought into Joseph’s house. And they said, Because of the silver that was returned in our sacks before, we are being brought in, to throw himself on us and to fall on us, and to take us and our asses for slaves.

And he said, Peace to you; do not fear; your God and the God of your father has given a treasure to you in your sacks; your silver came to me. And he brought Simeon out to them.

And I gave you the house of your master, and your master’s wives into your bosom. And I gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. And if that were too little, then I would have added to you these and these things.

For all the house of my father would be nothing except men of death before my lord the king, and you have set your servant among those eating at your table. And what right is there to me any more, even to cry any more to the king?

And the king said to him, Why do you speak any more of your matters? I have said, You and Ziba divide the land.

And the king said to Barzillai, You pass over with me and I will sustain you with me in Jerusalem.

But the king spared Jonathan’s son Mephibosheth the son of Saul because of the oath of Jehovah that was between them, between David and Jonathan, the son of Saul.

And David said, Is there yet any who remain left to the house of Saul, that I may do with him kindness because of Jonathan?

And you shall till the land for him, you and your sons and your servants. And you shall bring in the fruits, so that your master’s son may have bread to eat. But Mephibosheth your master’s son shall eat bread continually at my table. And Ziba had fifteen sons, and twenty servants.

And Ziba said to the king, According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so your servant will do. And Mephibosheth was eating at my table like one of the king’s sons.

And Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the table of the king. And he was lame in both his feet.

And the king said, Is there not yet a man to the house of Saul, that I may do with him the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, There is yet a son to Jonathan, lame in both feet.

You shall be merciful to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and they shall be among those eating at your table, for so they drew near to me when I fled from the face of your brother Absalom.

And he changed his prison garments, and he ate bread continually before him all the days of his life.

Even a man desiring my well-being, I trusted in him, eating of my bread; this one has lifted up his heel against me.

And he changed his prison garments, and he ate bread before his face continually the day of his death, all the days of his life.

So says Jehovah of Hosts, saying, Judge true judgment, and practice kindness and pity, each man with his brother.

Give us today our daily bread,

that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom; and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Behold, I stand at the door and am knocking. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will enter to him, and I will dine with him, and he with Me.

Only fear Jehovah and serve Him in truth with all your heart, for see that He has done great things for you.

but you shall not cut off your kindness from my house forever, not even when Jehovah cuts off the enemies of David, each man from off the face of the earth.

Dwell with me. Do not fear. For he who seeks my life seeks your life. For with me you will be under protection.
