who through faith overcame kingdoms, worked out righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

quenched the power of fire, escaped the mouths of the sword, acquired power from weakness, became strong in war, armies of foreigners being made to bow.

And the Philistines were subdued and did not yet again come into the border of Israel. And the hand of Jehovah was on the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
