And it happened at evening time, David rose up from his bed and walked up and down on the roof of the king’s house. And he saw from the roof a woman bathing. And the woman was very good of form.

And Abner the son of Ner, the commander of Saul’s army, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and caused him to cross over to Mahanaim.

And Saul’s son had two men, troop commanders, one’s name being Baanah, and the other’s name Rechab, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, of the sons of Benjamin (for Beeroth also is counted to Benjamin).

And his servant Zimri, the captain of half of the chariots, conspired against him. And he was in Tirzah drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the house of Tirzah.

And when they departed from him (they left him with many diseases) his own servants conspired against him, because of the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and killed him on his bed; and he died. And they buried him in the city of David, and did not bury him in the graves of the kings.

And after the time that Amaziah had turned aside from following Jehovah, they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish, but they sent after him to Lachish and caused him to die there.

And his servants conspired against him and caused him to die in his own house;
