And to Jonathan the son of Saul was a son with crippled feet. He was a son of five years when the news of Saul and Jonathan came out of Jezreel; and his nurse lifted him up and fled; and it happened as she hurried to flee, that he fell and became lame; and his name was Mephibosheth.

But the king spared Jonathan’s son Mephibosheth the son of Saul because of the oath of Jehovah that was between them, between David and Jonathan, the son of Saul.

And Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the table of the king. And he was lame in both his feet.

And the king said, Is there not yet a man to the house of Saul, that I may do with him the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, There is yet a son to Jonathan, lame in both feet.

And Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan the son of Saul came to David and fell on his face, and prostrated himself. And David said, Mephibosheth! And he said, Behold, your servant.

And the Philistines gathered all their armies to Aphek. And Israel was camped at a fountain which is in Jezreel.

And David rose up early, he and his men, to go in the morning, to return to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
