And Abner was exceedingly angry over the words of Ishbosheth. And he said, Am I a dog’s head, that I act with kindness with the house of your father Saul in regards to Judah today, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not caused you to be found in the hand of David, and you charge a stroke against me with the woman today?

And Abner the son of Ner, the commander of Saul’s army, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and caused him to cross over to Mahanaim.

May God do so to Abner, and add to it so, if I do not do to David as Jehovah has sworn,

You shall not bring the hire of a prostitute, or the price of a dog, into the house of Jehovah your God for any vow; for even both of these are a disgusting thing to Jehovah your God.

And Samuel said to him, Jehovah has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to your neighbor who is better than you.

And the Philistine said to David, Am I a dog that you have come to me with sticks? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.
