And David went and took the bones of Saul, and the bones of his son Jonathan from the rulers of Jabeshgilead, who had stolen them from the plaza of Beth-shan, there where the Philistines hanged them in the day the Philistines struck Saul in Gilboa.

And the youth who was telling him said, Drawing near I happened to be on Mount Gilboa. And behold, Saul was leaning on his spear. And, behold, the chariots and the masters of horses closely pursued him!

And all the men of strength arose and carried away Saul’s body, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh. And they buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh; and fasted seven days.

And it happened on the next day, the Philistines came to strip those pierced. And they found Saul and his sons fallen in Mount Gilboa.

And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher, Beth-shean and its daughter-towns and Ibleam and its daughter-towns, and the ones living in Dor and its daughter-towns, and the ones living in Endor and its daughter- towns, and the ones living in Taanach and its daughter-towns, and the ones living in Megiddo and its daughter-towns; three regions.

And the Philistines had gathered and had come in and camped in Shunem. And Saul gathered all Israel, and they camped in Gilboa.

And the Philistines were fighting against Israel. And the men of Israel fled from the face of the Philistines, and they fell down wounded in Mount Gilboa.

And the battle went hard against Saul. And the archers, men with the bow, found him and he was sorely wounded by the archers.

And Saul said to his armorbearer, Draw your sword and thrust it through me, lest these uncircumcised ones come and thrust it through me and abuse me. But his armorbearer would not, for he was much afraid. So Saul took the sword and fell on it.
