And Abner called to Joab, and said, Does the sword devour forever? Do you not know that it will be bitter in the end? And until when will you say to the people to turn back from after their brothers?

And David said to the messenger, You shall say to Joab, Do not let this thing be evil in your eyes; for as this one so that one the sword devours. Make your battle stronger against the city, and overthrow it. And make him strong.

And Abner said to Joab, Let the young men rise up now and make sport before us. And Joab said, Let them rise.

These devastating have come on all barren heights through the wilderness, for the sword of Jehovah devours from one end of the land even to the other end of the land. There is no peace for any flesh.

In vain I have stricken your sons; they took no correction. Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

Until when must I see the banner and hear the sound of the rams’ horn?

And on the following day he appeared to them while fighting. And he urged them to peace, saying, Men, you are brothers. Why do you wrong one another?
