And Abner said yet again to Asahel, Turn aside yourself from after me. Why should I strike you to the ground? And how shall I lift up my face to your brother Joab?
And Abner said to him, Turn aside to your right, or to your left, and seize one of the young men for yourself, and take his plunder for yourself. And Asahel was not willing to turn aside from after him.
And Abner returned to Hebron. And Joab turning him aside into the middle of the gate, to speak with him privately, even he struck him in the fifth rib there, and he died, because of the blood of his brother Asahel.
And Saul said to Michal, Why have you deceived me this way, that you have sent away my enemy, and he has slipped away ? And Michal said to Saul, He said to me, Send me away; why should I kill you?
