And Asahel pursued after Abner, and did not turn to go to the right or to the left from following after Abner.

And there were three sons of Zeruiah there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel. And Asahel was swift with his feet, like one of the gazelles which is in the field.

And Abner looked behind him, and said, Is this you Asahel? And he said, It is I.

And Abner said to him, Turn aside to your right, or to your left, and seize one of the young men for yourself, and take his plunder for yourself. And Asahel was not willing to turn aside from after him.

And Abner returned to Hebron. And Joab turning him aside into the middle of the gate, to speak with him privately, even he struck him in the fifth rib there, and he died, because of the blood of his brother Asahel.

And Joab and his brother Abishai killed Abner because he had caused their brother Asahel to die in Gibeon, in battle.

And he did the right in the eyes of Jehovah, and walked in all the way of his father David, and did not turn aside to the right or the left.

Do not stretch to the right or to the left; turn your foot aside from evil.

Only be strong and very brave, so that you may take heed to do according to all the Law which Moses My servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may act wisely wherever you go.

And you shall be very strong to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the Law of Moses, so as not to turn aside from it to the right or to the left;
