And David comforted his wife Bathsheba. And he went in to her, and lay with her. And she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon. And Jehovah loved him,
When your days are fulfilled, and you lie with your fathers, even I shall raise up your seed after you, who shall come out from your loins, and I shall establish his kingdom.
And Nathan spoke to Bath-sheba, the mother of Solomon, saying, Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith reigns, and our lord David does not know?
And David the king said to all the congregation, My son Solomon, the one whom God has chosen, is young and tender. And the work is great, for the temple is not for man, but for Jehovah God.
Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? Yet among many nations there was no king like him, who was beloved by his God; and God made him king over Israel. But women from foreign lands caused even him to sin.
