And he answered, I have not disturbed Israel, but you and the house of your father, in that you have forsaken the commands of Jehovah, and you have gone after the Baals.
And he said, Being zealous, I have been zealous for Jehovah the God of Hosts, for the sons of Israel have forsaken Your covenant; they have thrown down Your altars, and they have struck Your prophets with the sword, and I am left, I, I alone, and they seek my life, to take it.
because they did not meet the sons of Israel with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them. But our God turned the curse to a blessing.
Ephraim shall say, What is it to me any more with idols? I answered him, and I regarded him. I am as a green cypress tree; your fruit is found from Me.
My people, remember now what Balak, king of Moab, planned; and what Balaam, the son of Beor, answered him from Shittim to Gilgal, so that you may know the righteousnesses of Jehovah.
And the ass saw the Angel of Jehovah standing in the road, and His sword was drawn in His hand. And the ass turned out of the road and went into a field. And Balaam struck the ass, to turn it back into the road.
And the Angel of Jehovah said to him, Why have you struck your ass these three times? Behold, I have come out for an adversary because your way is rushing headlong toward Me.
Behold, these through the word of Balaam became to the sons of Israel a deliverance of treachery against Jehovah in the matter of Peor; and the plague was on the company of Jehovah.
Indeed, then, this one bought a field out of the reward of unrighteousness; and falling headlong, he burst in the middle, and all his bowels poured out.
said, O son of the devil, full of all deceit and of all villainy, hostile to all righteousness, will you not stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?
receiving the wages of unrighteousness, deeming luxuriousness in the day to be pleasure; they are spots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, feasting together with you,
But I have a few things against you, that you have there some holding the teachings of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat idol sacrifices, and to commit fornication.
