In his days Pharaoh-necho the king of Egypt came up against the king of Assyria by the river Euphrates; and King Josiah went out to meet him, and he caused him to die in Megiddo, when he saw him.

But Amaziah would not listen, and Jehoash the king of Israel went up; and they saw one another in the face, he and Amaziah the king of Judah, in Beth-shemesh of Judah.

And the king of Egypt did not come again out of his land; for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt to the Euphrates River, all that was to the king of Egypt.

And Ahaziah the king of Judah saw, and he fled the way of the garden house. And Jehu pursued him, and said, Strike him, him also, in the chariot, in the ascent to Gur, that is, Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo and died there.

There is a vanity which is done on the earth: There are just ones whom it touches to them according to the works of the wicked ones; and there are wicked ones to whom it touches according to the work of the righteous ones. I said that this also is vanity.

Weep not for the ones who died and do not lament for him; weep bitterly for him who goes away, for he shall return no more, nor see the land of his birth.

For so says Jehovah concerning Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned in his father Josiah’s place, who went forth from this place: he shall not return there any more.

But he shall die there in the place where they have exiled him, and he will see this land no more.

against Egypt, against the army of Pharaoh- necho, king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, struck in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah:

Do not let the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape. They stumbled and fell to the north, by the side of the river Euphrates.

And you lift up a lament for the rulers of Israel,

In that day the mourning in Jerusalem shall be great, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddo.

O the depth of the riches and of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher, Beth-shean and its daughter-towns and Ibleam and its daughter-towns, and the ones living in Dor and its daughter-towns, and the ones living in Endor and its daughter- towns, and the ones living in Taanach and its daughter-towns, and the ones living in Megiddo and its daughter-towns; three regions.

And He assembled them in the place having been called in Hebrew, Armageddon.

And Manasseh had not dispossessed Beth-shean and its daughter-villages, and Taanach and its daughter-villages, and the ones living in Dor and its daughtervillages, and the ones living in Ibleam and its daughter-villages; and the ones living in Megiddo and its daughter-villages. For the Canaanites willed to live in that land.

Kings came; they fought; then the kings of Canaan fought in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of silver.
