and walked in the statutes of the nations that Jehovah had dispossessed from the face of the sons of Israel, and of the kings of Israel that they made.
And the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Behold your gods, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt!
And King Ahaz went to meet Tiglathpileser the king of Assyria at Damascus. And he saw the altar that was in Damascus. And King Ahaz sent the likeness of the altar to Urijah the priest, and its pattern, according to all its work.
But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and also he caused his son to pass through the fire, like the disgusting things of the nations whom Jehovah had cast out from before the sons of Israel.
You shall not bow down to their gods, and you shall not serve them. And you shall not do according to their works. But tearing you shall tear them down, and smashing you shall smash their pillars.
So says Jehovah, You shall not be taught by the way of the nations; and do not be terrified by the signs of the heavens; for the nations are terrified at them.
And she has changed My judgments for wickedness more than the nations, and My laws more than the lands that are round about her. For they have rejected My judgments and My statutes; they have not walked in them.
You shall not do according to the doings of the land of Egypt in which you lived; and you shall not do according to the doings of the land of Canaan to which I am bringing you; nor shall you walk in their statutes.
You shall not make idols to yourselves; and you shall not set up for yourselves graven images, or a memorial pillar. And you shall not place any stone image in your land, to bow yourselves to it; for I am Jehovah your God.
And one has kept himself as to the statutes of Omri and all the works of the house of Ahab. And you walk in their counsels, so that I may give you for a horror, and ones living in her for a hissing. And you shall bear the reproach of My people.
