In the days of Pekah the king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser the king of Assyria came and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and removed them to Assyria.

And Jehovah shall strike Israel as the reed waves in the water, and shall pluck up Israel from off this good land that He gave to their fathers. And He shall scatter them beyond the River, because they have made their Asherahs, provoking Jehovah to anger.

And King Ahaz went to meet Tiglathpileser the king of Assyria at Damascus. And he saw the altar that was in Damascus. And King Ahaz sent the likeness of the altar to Urijah the priest, and its pattern, according to all its work.

And Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser the king of Assyria, saying, I am your servant and your son; come up and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who have risen up against me.

And Jehovah rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and gave them into the hand of the plunderers, until He had cast them out from His presence.

until Jehovah turned away Israel from His face, as He spoke by the hand of all His servants the prophets; and Israel was exiled from off its land to Assyria to this day.

In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria, and removed Israel to Assyria, and made them live in Halah, and in Habor, by the river Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by completely destroying them; and shall you be delivered?

And now our God, the great, the mighty and the fearful God, keeping the covenant and the mercy, let it not seem little before You, all the trouble which has found us, to our kings, to our rulers, and to our priests, and to our prophets, and to our fathers, and to all Your people, since the day of the kings of Assyria to this day.

Your land is a desolation; your cities burned with fire. Strangers devour your land before you; and behold, it is ruin, as overthrown by strangers.

Truly, O Jehovah, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the lands, and their land,

For before the boy shall know to refuse the evil and choose the good thing, the land that you hate will be forsaken before both her kings.

In that day the Lord will shave with a razor that is hired beyond the River, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet, and also it shall sweep away the beard.

So I have given her into the hand of ones loving her, into the hand of the sons of Assyria, on whom she lusted, on them.

And I shall make the land desolate, and your enemies who are living in it shall be astonished at it.

So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, to make their border larger.

So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they have threshed Gilead with threshing sledges of iron.

And I will exile you beyond Damascus, says Jehovah; the God of Hosts is His name.

For, behold, I am raising a nation up against you, O house of Israel, a statement of Jehovah, the God of Hosts. And they shall oppress you from the entrance of Hamath to the torrent of the Arabah.

And the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad had many livestock, a very great multitude. And they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead. And, behold, the place was a place for livestock.

And Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh, and he lived in it.

Jehovah shall cause you to be stricken before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them, and shall flee seven ways before them. And you shall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

And it happened, when Jabin the king of Hazor heard, he sent to Jobab the king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

And Joshua returned and captured Hazor at that time. And he struck its king by the sword; for Hazor was formerly head of all these kingdoms.

But as for all the places of defense which stood by their mounds, Israel did not burn them; but Joshua only burned Hazor.

And the sons of Dan raised up for themselves the graven image. And Jonathan the son of Gershom, the son of Manasseh, he and his sons were priests to the tribe of the Danites until the day of the captivity of the land.

And Jehovah sold them into the hand of Jabin the king of Canaan, who ruled in Hazor. And his army commander was Sisera; and he lived in Harosheth of the nations.
