For, indeed, we coming into Macedonia, in our flesh no one had rest, but being troubled in every way, with fightings on the outside and fears on the inside.

I had no rest in my spirit at my not finding my brother Titus, but taking leave of them, I went out to Macedonia.

The sword shall bereave from without, and terror from within, both the young man and the virgin, the suckling with the man of gray hairs.

You said, Woe is me now, for Jehovah has added grief to my pain; I fainted in my groaning, and I find no rest.

For I heard the slanders of many, Terror is all around! Expose! Yea, let us expose him! Every man of my peace watched for my fall, saying, Perhaps he will be lured away, and we shall prevail against him; and we shall take revenge on him.

From my smiling I suffer beyond grief; my heart is sick within me.

Do not go out into the field or walk by the way, because of the sword of the enemy and terror from round about.

And peoples shall be as burnings of lime; as thorns cut away, they shall be burned in fire.

Terrors frighten him on every side and shall break him at his feet.

But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned to him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of all the earth. And he put out his hand and took her, and pulled her in to him into the ark.

For Macedonia and Achaia thought it good to make certain contribution to the poor of the saints in Jerusalem.
