But you shall be called, Priests of Jehovah; it will be said of you, Ministers of our God. You shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their glory you shall be exchanged.
Let the priests, ministers of Jehovah, weep between the porch and the altar; and let them say, Have pity on Your people, O Jehovah, and do not give Your inheritance to shame, for a proverb among those of the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?
Men, Israelites, hear these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a Man from God, having been exhibited among you by works of power and wonders and miraculous signs, which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know,
But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is not God unrighteous inflicting wrath? I speak according to man.
Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as beside myself) I being beyond them: in labors, more abundantly; in stripes, beyond measure; in prisons, much more; in deaths, many times.
And being present with you and lacking, I was not a burden to anyone. The brothers coming from Macedonia completely made up for my need. And in every way I kept myself without burden to you, and I will keep myself.
Therefore I am pleased in weaknesses, in insults, in calamities, in persecutions, in distresses, for the sake of Christ. For whenever I may be weak, then I am powerful.
But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor corrupting the Word of God, but by the revelation of the truth commending ourselves to every conscience of men before God.
For behold this very same thing, you being grieved according to God, how much it fully worked earnestness in you, but also defense, but also indignation, but also fear, but also desire, but also zeal, but also vengeance! In everything you commended yourselves to be clear in the matter.
who now rejoice in my sufferings on your behalf and fill up in my flesh the things lacking of the afflictions of Christ on behalf of His body, which is the Assembly,
And we exhort you, brothers, to admonish the disobedient ones, comfort the ones being faint-hearted, sustain the ones being weak, be long-suffering towards all.
Having laid down these things to the brothers, you will be a good servant of Jesus Christ, having been nourished by the words of the faith, and by the good doctrine which you have followed.
So therefore we also, having so great a cloud of witnesses lying around us, having laid aside every weight and the easily surrounding sin, through patience let us also run the race being set before us,
I, even your brother John, and cosharer in the affliction, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, came to be in the island being called Patmos on account of the Word of God, and for the witness of Jesus Christ.
Because you kept the Word of My patience, I also will keep you out of the hour of trial, the one being about to come on the whole inhabited earth in order to try the ones dwelling on the earth.
