When the heavens shall be shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against You, and they shall pray toward this place, and confess Your name, turning back from their sin because You have afflicted them,

even You shall hear in Heaven, and shall forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and shall cause them to return to the land which You have given to them and to their fathers.

If I shut up the heavens and there is no rain, and if I command the locusts to devour the land, and if I send pestilence among My people,

One covering his transgressions will not prosper, but the one confessing and forsaking them shall have pity.

And I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned and not hoed; but briers and thorns shall come up. And on the clouds I will command the rain from raining on it.

Son of man, when a land sins against Me, by doing an unfaithful act, then I will stretch out My hand on it, and I will shatter the staff of bread to it, and I will send famine on it. And I will cut off from it man and beast.

But on a truth I say to you, Many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah when the heaven was shut up over three years and six months, when a great famine came on all the land;

and the anger of Jehovah burn against you, and He shut up the heavens, and there be no rain, and the ground not give her increase, and you perish quickly from off the good land which Jehovah is giving to you.

And your heavens over your head shall become bronze, and the earth under you iron.

These have the authority to shut up the heaven, that no rain may rain in the days of the prophecy. And they have authority over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they will.
