And Jeroboam did not regain power any more in Abijah’s days. And Jehovah struck him, and he died.
And the days that Jeroboam reigned were twenty-two years. And he lay with his fathers, and his son Nadab reigned in his place.
And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam the king of Israel Asa reigned over Judah.
And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam and captured cities from him: Beth-el and its daughter-villages, and Jeshanah and its daughter-villages, and Ephrain and its daughter villages.
And Abijah became mighty, and he took fourteen wives to himself. And he fathered twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
Son of man, behold, I am taking from you the desire of your eyes with a stroke. Yet you shall not wail nor weep, and your tears shall not come.
And instantly an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give the glory to God. And having been eaten of worms, he breathed out his soul.
And it happened in about ten days, Jehovah struck Nabal and he died.
And David said, As Jehovah lives, except Jehovah strike him, or his day shall come and he dies, or he goes down and is devoured in battle,
