A Song of Ascents, for Solomon. If Jehovah does not build the house, they labor in vain that build it; if Jehovah does not keep the city, the one keeping it stays awake in vain.
And I said, I have labored in vain; I have spent My strength for nothing, and in vain; yet surely My judgment is with Jehovah, and My work with My God.
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace which was toward me has not been fruitless, but I labored more abundantly than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.
And I went up according to revelation. And I put before them the gospel which I proclaim in the nations, but privately to the ones thought to be pillars, lest perhaps I run, or I ran, to no purpose.
And because of this we give thanks to God without ceasing, that having received the Word of hearing from us, you welcomed it as of God, not as a word of men, but as it is, truly the Word of God, which also works in you, the ones believing.
Because of this, no longer enduring, I also sent to know your faith, that the tempting one not somehow tempt you, and our labor should come to be in vain.
when He comes to be glorified in His saints, and to be marveled at among all the ones having believed in that Day, because our testimony to you was believed.
